Greystone Mansion Concours Car Show 2013

The Annual Greystone Mansion Concours Show was held on Sunday, May 5th 2013. I have attended the show for the past few years and it is always an enjoyable event. The show keeps growing and attracting more people and cars to the Greystone Mansion.

If you have not been to the Greystone Mansion, you might have seen it a number of times in television shows or movies. It has been the setting for many major motion pictures, most notably the lower level bowling alley was used in the film, There Will Be Blood. The car show is a fundraiser to maintain the large home and property. It was owned by the influential Doheny family and is now a landmark that the organization uses for charity functions.

Within the house, many vendors set up booths to promote their products and services. The vintage auto poster exhibit is always a popular stop. During the day there were a number of programs and shows talking about the history of the Greystone Mansion and Beverly Hills history.

The large property provided plenty of space for eating, drinking and socializing. Event sponsors, such as Lawry's catering and Stella Artois, had booths and tables throughout the property for guests to enjoy.

Since it was Cinco de Mayo, guests were treated to music from a mariachi band

A few of other event sponsors, like The Auto Gallery and Porsche had vehicles on display.
The Concours vehicles were the main attraction, but there were plenty of vintage and Bonneville motorcycles on display.

New Era Two Seater

The Californian and the Emblem were my two favorite bikes on display. Each was about 100 years old and the restorations were amazing. Not sure if I would want to ride a leather belt-driven motorcycle around town, but it was pretty cool to see.
Vehicle were arranged by type or category. It made it easy to browse your favorite vehicle. Large categories such as Porsche, Mercedes or Corvette had their own sections. Others were sorted into pre- or post war categories. There was a variety of classics, sports cars and luxury automobiles.

Porsche vehicles all lined up.

Probably my favorite car on display at the Greystone Mansion was this 1956 Fiat Eden Roc. This nautical inspired car is very cool. Check out the wooden bench seat.

Mixed in with all the Italian cars were a pair of clean 1950's Buick automobiles.

Before the awards ceremony, the Concours also hosted a fashion show featuring shops and boutiques from Beverly Hills.

At the end of the show, the award winning cars lined up for award presentations. It was a fun show and I had a great time as usual.
