2nd Annual Shepherd of the Hills Car Show

In addition to being at the Spring Fling this past Saturday, I also spent a good portion of my day at the 2nd Annual Shepherd of the Hills Car Show. California Car Cover was a proud sponsor of the event for the second straight year. It was great to see a lot of our local friends and customers come out and support the show as well.

The show attracted plenty of classic cars and motorcycles to Porter Ranch

Awesome orange custom Mercury

The show is open to all makes and models of custom cars, so there was a nice variety of hot rods, muscle cars and custom trucks.

Shepherd of the Hills is a large church that does a lot of great things in the Los Angeles area. The car show is a charity event, but not for the church. Last year, the revenue generated from the show was used to build water wells in Africa. This year, the church will be donating all proceeds from the show to Rancho Sordo Mudo, a school in Mexico that provides a home and education to deaf and mute children.
This 1946 Chevy pickup belongs to one of our local customers, Phil. The great looking pickup won a number of awards at the car show, including Best of Show. Glad that California Car Cover can help Phil keep it clean.
There is plenty of parking available at the church. The large parking structure provided plenty of shade to attendees.

The main sponsor of the show was Galpin Motors. Galpin brought out a number of new and custom cars

Even a few European cars and exotics were on display

Great Cadillac convertible

Recognize this car? We featured it on one of our catalog covers back in 2009.

A few local food trucks were on hand in case attendees needed food or drinks. There were also plenty of tables and chairs in the shade to keep everyone cool.
Hello, Michael.

A great attraction at this year's show was the return of the Cackle Fest. There were a dozen nostalgia drag race cars on display. The church and its members did a great job coordinating car owners. I have grown up around drag racing, but many show attendees were not aware of how cool drag racing is. They got to see and hear what goes into drag racing first hand. They selected a great group of racing enthusiasts to put on the nostalgia display.

At the end of the day, the church distributed awards to the sponsors and lucky award winners. Show attendees voted for the winners. It was a great day at Shepherd of the Hills. Thank you to Bahram and Abe from the church for including California Car Cover in the 2013 car show.
Waiting for the awards...

Exiting the show.

Even I drove my Chevy Nova over to the show

After the show with one of the event coordinators, Abe.
